Self worth and Taurus

Hi, I keep getting stuck on something.

Taurus is associated with self-worth, but which self are we talking about? The outer personality, the ego, or the soul?

It's the second house in the evolutionary sequence, yet the ego doesn't really form until the 4th house.

Related to this, I've come to feel that confidence and self-worth are different things. Confidence feels more Leo to me—in the positive sense of the ego expressing itself creatively and being aligned with itself. There's also another kind of confidence in the 10th house: who we present ourselves to be in society (our cultural, parental, social identity). The identity we have more consciously constructed (through the lens of the identity that was conditioned)

Recently I realized I had almost no relationship with my inner self. My work started with the inner child and expanded from there. Through EA and watching my transits—especially to my Chiron in Taurus in the 9th—many Taurus themes came up.

What I eventually arrived at felt like self-worth. But I'm still unsure:
is that self-worth connected to the soul, or to the ego?

How can this be understood through the natural zodiac?

Main question: self worth is regarding which "self" in the natural zodiac  (if we are referring to a higher octave of the Taurus 2H Venus energy)

Thank you in advance  :)

Hi Dominika,

The Taurus/2nd house/Venus archetype symbolizes our inner vibration/frequency, or where we are inwardly "coming from." In terms of self-worth, in my view, it is worth or value that we give ourselves independent from the value or worth that comes from others within relationships, externally, etc (Taurus inconjunction to Libra archetype).

Namaste,

Hi Dominika,

This is what I have felt into and synthesized from my own experience and path of self-worth and through clients.

Self-worth is linked to our inner relationship to self (2nd/Taurus). Taurus sextiles Cancer in the natural zodiac which reflects the need to nurture and validate ourselves from within. That is an act of self-love (2nd/Taurus square to 5th/Leo). When we nurture ourselves as an act of self- love that means we are valuing ourselves from within. On a Soul level (natural T-square between 2nd/5th/8th).

Natural Self-confidence happens through improvement and commitment on a Soul level. This pulls in Virgo/6th trine to Taurus/2nd and the sextile between Virgo/6th and Scorpio/8th. It becomes integrative (Taurus opposition with Scorpio). With a natural humility.

Self-worth is connected to the Soul and the Ego. They aren't separate. The ego is just the personality that the Soul chooses in the current life that reflects the Soul. If someone is lacking self-worth and self-confidence it is a Soul issue seen through the ego (present moment).

I hope this helps,
Jordyn

Thank you both so much for your replies. I just wanted to write that I'm taking a lot of time to process this daily and I think I'm getting close to understanding and finding my words.. as soon as I do I'll write back!

I've been thinking about this a lot, and what you both said makes sense. I've been reflecting on this and trying to connect the pieces in a way that the characteristics of Taurus all come together. I may be off in places, but I wanted to share and see what you think.

In the beginning, we're born with a divine spark of the Creator. In Aries, it's unconscious—it's the impulse of "I want." That desire drives us into experience. Through those experiences, something begins to form: an identity, and an integration into the physical world. The spark starts to ignite.

To me, Taurus feels like that ignition, like fertilization. The spark germinates, like a sperm meeting an egg, and begins to generate a frequency. Life. That frequency is what we experience as value. It's not fully conscious yet, but there's a felt sense of worth. This is why Taurus relates to survival, not just physically, but as a relationship to this inner frequency. Our reason for existence. We need to  ground in it and cultivate it, like developing a self beyond the human body.

The axis with Scorpio the soul makes more sense to me now.

The body and the spark depend on each other, the more growth of the human body  (the vessel), the more the spark can grow. Environment starts to matter. The tool around us hold more value because we hold more value.

Then there's Taurus relating to fertility and procreation, and Leo to children and creative expression. The spark is the evolutionary driver, it's why we're here in human form. In Leo it begins to express itself through its vessel (human). That's why Leo is the sun and purpose.

As this spark germinates, we become a self-contained vessel (self-sustaining, self-resourcing). To support it, there's a natural instinct to preserve and withdraw at times, like pregnancy requires rest and protection. The need for safety and security becomes stronger because something deeper is being sustained.

Resonance is us listening to that spark.  Taurus connecting to the heart chakra also makes sense to me now

Self-worth, then, is really about feeling that inner frequency. That's what gives the human vessel value and meaning. What we value externally reflects that inner resonance. This is why manifestation relates here: we attract externally what we carry internally.
But it can get blocked.

Over evolution, the goal seems to be to bring that spark into conscious expression, to fulfill our human purpose. But for that to happen, the human vessel has to be developed. This feels like the work of the Earth signs: Taurus (holding the spark), Virgo (refining the vessel), and Capricorn (mastery). The more developed the vessel, the more fully the spark can come through.

The liberation in Aquarius may be to liberate this spark from the human once it's ready.  Pisces then being when the spark goes back to the Creator(if we reach our highest octave), if not, back we go to Aries again .

Also, this might explain Taurus stubbornness. What's resonating within is bigger than the person. To override it would mean abandoning the self, which damages our sense of value.

Dharma feels like the strength and energy of the spark.
Karma feels like the accumulated memory of the human experience over time.

But what is the spark? I think it's  a tiny part of the whole of The Creator , given to us to be evolved over lifetimes

I think also that this is mirrored through The Ages.
The dark ages we are furthest away from the spark (light) and that's mirrored by how little we know about it in our time. We are in the dark. The era in which we live. Those thousands of years from the Lilith book.
We are in the dark looking for light.
Whereas the eras lived during the times where we are in the light are much more clear and peaceful.  Conscious?

This feels like the most fundamental energy of Taurus from which all the other characteristics emanate

Appreciate you taking the time to sit with this with me, it means a lot to put this into words
